Vaccinating, deworming & hoof trimming schedule.
Bred does:
Two weeks before breeding:
Deworm with Valbazen (1cc per 25# orally).
Vaccinate with Covexin 8 & Lepto-5 (both 2cc SQ).
Trim hooves.
Two months after bred (confirm pregnancy):
Deworm with Dectomax (1cc per 50# IM does not sting).
Trim hooves ONLY if doe does not struggle.
Four months bred:
Deworm with Safe-Guard oral for goats (follow directions on bottle).
1-2 weeks before due:
Deworm with Dectomax (1cc per 50# IM does not sting).
Vaccinate with Covexin 8 & Lepto-5 (both 2cc SQ).
Bo-Se does in selenium deficient areas, ask your vet for correct dosages to avoid selenium toxicity.
1 day post kidding:
Trim hooves.
Two weeks post kidding:
Deworm with Valbazen (1cc per 25# orally).
Follow schedule for pet does/wethers for deworming through the months the doe is not bred and begin bred doe schedule when breeding season begins.
Kids:
One month old:
Deworm with Safe-Guard oral for goats (follow directions on bottle).
Vaccinate breeding stock with Covexin 8 & Lepto-5 (both 2cc SQ).
Vaccinate non-breeding stock wit Bar Vac CD/T (2cc SQ).
Trim hooves.
Two months old:
Deworm with Ivomec (1cc per 50# orally or IM over ribs).
Revaccinate with vaccines above (breeding or non-breeding).
Trim hooves.
Follow pertaining schedule for breeding does/bucks or pet does/wethers after that.
Pet (non-breeding) does and wethers:
Spring:
Deworm with Ivomec (1cc per 50# ether orally or IM over ribs).
Vaccinate with Bar Vac CD/T (2cc IM) before they are put out to pasture.
Trim hooves if needed.
Summer:
Deworm with Valbazen (1cc per 25# orally) or Safe-Guard oral for goats (follow directions on bottle).
Trim hooves if needed.
Fall:
Deworm with Ivomec Plus (for liver flukes) (1cc per 50 pounds ether orally or IM) after hard frost.
Trim hooves if needed.
Winter:
Deworm with Valbazen (1cc per 25# orally) or Safe-Guard oral for goats (follow directions on bottle). Trim hooves if needed.
